Dongzhaoshan Guandi Temple

Dongzhaoshan Guandi Temple originated from the Wenfanshe Mingdetang in Sinsing District, Kaohsiung City. Due to its growing popularity and insufficient space, another site was chosen in Xiaoping Village, Dashu Township, where the temple was built and completed in 1990. The temple primarily enshrines the golden statue of Guan Sheng Dijun (Emperor Guan), and also houses the God of Wealth and other deities. Inside the main hall, dozens of paintings depicting Guan Gong's deeds are displayed, making it feel like reading a history book of the Three Kingdoms period. Moreover, the 36-foot-tall statue of Guan Gong standing atop the pilgrim's accommodation building is truly awe-inspiring. Xiaoping Village is situated on high ground with excellent views, offering panoramic views of Kaohsiung City on clear days. The green tunnel road in front of the temple is especially tranquil and cooling, attracting not only pilgrims but also cyclists.
