Kunjiang Village in Beimen District is a small village near Nankunshen Daitian Temple. Decades ago, it is said that even President Chiang Ching-kuo came to visit here, and the reason was none other than for Mr. Hong Tong. Hong Tong, who only started painting at the age of 50, was known locally as 'Uncle Zhudou'. He became famous throughout Taiwan in the 1970s and sparked a trend for self-taught artists in the global art scene at the time. This also earned the place the reputation as the hometown of the 'Picasso of the East'.
