This temple was completed in the 28th year of the Daoguang reign (1848). After Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong) came to Taiwan, this area could be considered a major market town outside the main city. At Nantang Guogangzai (Guo Guanghou's residence), there was a port where small sailboats from mainland China could dock, leading to extreme prosperity for a time. The temple's location is known as 'Liujiaodian,' likely because there was a street here with many shops on both sides, where daily trading was very active. This name has been used ever since.
