Prince Temple Mingzhi Palace

Mingzhi Palace primarily worships Marshal Zhongtan, commonly known as the Third Prince. The temple was built during the Yongli period of the Ming Dynasty, and its construction process is full of legendary tales. Legend has it that residents living near Jiyu Lake at that time saw a piece of wood floating upstream on Jiyu Lake, with thousands of grasshoppers following above it. Driven by curiosity, they followed the wood all the way until it drifted to the shore and stopped. The grasshoppers still did not leave, and there were also seven holes on the wood. While they were confused, someone suddenly passed by, reciting, "I am the Prince, sent by divine decree to save the world, protect the villagers, and I hope the villagers will build a temple and offer sacrifices." The origin of the temple's construction is still recounted with great relish by local elders, and the drifting wood was used to carve the statue of Marshal Zhongtan when the temple was built, which is worshipped to this day.
