Houbi District is located at the northernmost tip of Tainan City, in the central northern part of the Chianan Plain, 2 kilometers south of the Bazhang River. It is a narrow alluvial plain formed by the Bazhang River and the Jishui River. The terrain is higher in the northeast and slopes down to the west, with most of the district belonging to the Chianan Plain. To the north and west, it borders Shuishang and Lucao Townships in Chiayi County, separated by the Bazhang River. It connects to Baihe District in the east, borders Dongshan District in the southeast, and is adjacent to Xinying District in the south. Its area is 72.2189 square kilometers. Due to its rich water resources, rice is widely cultivated, making it the granary of the Chianan Plain, with its cultivated area exceeding 3500 hectares, ranking first nationwide. In addition, its warm climate and fertile soil cultivate a wealth of agricultural specialties, including rice, guavas, cantaloupes, and orchids. Nestled amidst lush green rice fields, the green corridor offers a unique sense of serenity. Away from the urban hustle and bustle, Houbi offers people the freedom to experience a leisurely and comfortable life.
