Xinshi Dashe is an area rich in the legends of Xuanwu (the God of the North). Within Dashe Village alone, there are three Xuantian Shangdi Temples, with the Dongshi Beiji Temple being the largest in scale. This temple was established in 1718 AD, and its mud-sculpted statue of Xuantian Shangdi from that period is considered the temple's most cherished treasure. In addition, the temple houses many other notable artifacts, such as the Shangdi Gong Seal, over three hundred years old, found in the pavilion behind the main hall, and the Seven-Star Stone Lanterns from Quanzhou installed on both sides of the temple courtyard. All of these are valuable historical relics of the temple.
