Visitor Essentials

Not far from the relatively bustling Nanhua urban area, after passing Nanhua Elementary School, look carefully on your right and you will see signs for Dàyuánmǎn Temple. Follow the road to the end, and you will discover a red Buddhist temple adorned with colorful prayer flags and golden prayer wheels. Apart from the resident temple staff, there aren't many visitors, creating a very tranquil and spiritual atmosphere. This temple, belonging to the Nyingma school (Red Hat sect) of Tibetan Buddhism, stands out from typical Buddhist temples with its vibrant and ornate colors. A prominent feature is the rainbow staircase in front of the temple. From here, you can enjoy a comfortable mountain breeze and admire the rolling mountains of Tainan, feeling as if you've been transported to a Tibetan landscape. It's considered a secret haven by many Nanhua locals. The murals and Buddhist statues inside the temple were painted by Tibetan lamas, strictly adhering to traditional Tibetan methods. It is truly remarkable to encounter Tibetan Buddhist culture, thousands of kilometers away, right here in Nanhua.
