Longshan Temple

Longshan Temple, located in Tainan's East District, is one of the "Seven Temples and Eight Shrines of Fucheng". It was built during the Kangxi reign (1715 AD) outside the East Gate of the city at that time, using coral stone. Taiwan Prefect Jiang Yuan-shu once allocated funds to rebuild the temple in 1778 AD. It was later demolished during the Japanese colonial period for road widening. After multiple reconstructions, what is seen today is a new appearance rebuilt on its original site. Inside the three-story temple, many ancient plaques and other artifacts from the Qing Dynasty era are still preserved. Although it is no longer the old building from the Qing Dynasty era, it still retains the atmosphere of an ancient temple.
