Qingwang Temple is located in Erhang Village, Rende District, the southernmost tip of Tainan City (formerly known as Er Ceng Xing). Although a small village, it holds valuable Taiwanese history. Er Ceng Xing was a settlement developed by Han Chinese during the Dutch period. During the Koxinga (Zheng) era, Zheng Chenggong established Dongdu Mingjing in Chihkan, Tainan, and also established Wannian County Administration and built a yamen (government office) in Er Ceng Xing. On December 14, 2008, the former Tainan County Government erected the 'Ancient Wannian County Administration Monument' in the Qingwang Temple plaza.
