Visitor Essentials

The Zheng clan arrived in Taiwan in 1661. Chen Yigui (also spelled Chen Yikuei), a grain transport official and Zheng Chenggong's uncle-in-law, along with his wife, three sons, daughters-in-law, and thirteen other family members, led their followers from Kinmen. They landed at 'Tougang' and 'Touqianliao' on the bank of the Jiangjun River. They then established a settlement on a sandbar between these two locations, naming it 'Zhongzhou'.
