Longqi Wenheng Temple

Wun Heng Sheng Di (Guan Sheng Di Jun, affectionately known as "Guan Gong") is a deity familiar to all Taiwanese people. But what if the guardians beside Wun Heng Sheng Di were heroes from the Avengers? Located in the winding mountains of Longqi, Wenheng Temple enjoys great prosperity. Inside the spacious temple, in addition to the usual Taoist statues and ceremonial objects, stand statues of heroic characters such as Iron Man, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and the Hulk. Each statue is half a story tall, affectionately nicknamed "the deities' guardians" by the temple, jointly protecting the temple and attracting a different kind of "pilgrim." "Empty Mountains, Full of Life" - The Empty Mountain Festival of Light. In recent years, there has been another reason to visit Wenheng Temple. The "Empty Mountain Festival," held in winter, reached its second edition by 2020. Starting from Wenheng Temple, you can venture into Huxingshan Park nearby, a park nestled in the woods, and experience the charm of light and shadow art installations on dark nights. The squares and old houses near the park also transform into markets and decorative art spaces during the festival, showcasing Longqi's blend of new and old.
