Barkley Park

Barkley Park, located in Chongming Village, East District, Tainan City, and facing the Tainan Cultural Center, is a vast area known as Tainan's urban lung. It's fair to say it's Tainan's most popular park, imbued with an artistic atmosphere. In spring and summer, it's lush and green, with occasional fireflies glowing at night. In autumn and winter, the trees are adorned with the yellow and red hues of bald cypress. Everywhere you walk, there's a beautiful interplay of light and shadow, prompting visitors to frequently capture moments with their cameras. Sunlight filters through the trees, creating distinct boundaries between bright and dark areas, which form some of the park's most picturesque scenes. Old tree stumps remaining on the ground resemble miniature mountain peaks, quietly situated by the pond's reflection, offering a leisurely atmosphere akin to a foreign landscape. Walking through the park, it's common to see happy groups picnicking under trees, on the grass, and on benches, much like in New York's Central Park.
