Because Putuo Chan Temple, which enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva of the South Sea, is situated on the lakeshore, this clear blue lake has come to be known as 'Xiaonanhai' (Little South Sea). The Xiaonanhai Suspension Bridge spans across, linking the Chan Temple and the ecological park, creating a scenic lakeside trail approximately 5 kilometers long, perfect for both walking and cycling. Lush trees line both sides, providing cool and refreshing shade along the trail even during summer visits. The natural circulation between trees and water ensures the air here is pure, like a fairyland in the South Sea. During the lotus season, the surrounding fields are filled with blooming lotus flowers, making it one of the key areas for lotus viewing in Baihe. The Xiaonanhai Scenic Area also boasts well-planned bicycle paths that connect to destinations such as the Orchid Biotechnology Park, Lincupi Kapok Road, and Wushulin. These cycling routes, linking nearby attractions, have fostered a trend of low-carbon bicycle travel, making it a scenic area ideal for both sports and leisure.
