Kaiji Yonghua Temple

When you visit the Confucius Temple area, don't miss exploring Fuzhong Street, a vibrant hub of cultural and creative shops. As you wander through the bustling alleys famous for their fried instant noodles, you'll catch the distinctive scent of curling incense smoke from a temple. This is Yonghua Temple, primarily dedicated to Guangze Zunwang. It was originally established for worship by Chen Yonghua, the Chief Administrator. After General Chen Yonghua's death, the people, grateful for his contributions to Taiwan's culture and education, renamed the temple Yonghua Temple. Inside, the temple houses many ancient artifacts related to its rituals and exquisite murals. These vividly depict Guangze Zunwang in his iconic cross-legged posture as he ascended to godhood. His legendary story is still widely recounted and cherished today.
