Anping Tianhou Temple (Kaitai Tianhou Temple)

The Kaitai Tianhou Temple is dedicated to Mazu, the Heavenly Holy Mother. The enshrined Mazu statue is traditionally believed to have been brought by Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong) in the 17th century to secure Mazu's blessings and aid for his army in conquering Taiwan, hence its name 'Kaitai' (Founding Taiwan).
