Chongdao Chongwen Archway

Walking through Tainan Park, you will encounter a historic stone archway. Inscribed on it are the characters "Chongdao Chongwen" (Valuing Ethics and Esteeming Learning). The archway was built in 1815 to commend Lin Chaoying, a resident of Fucheng (the former name for Tainan), for his generosity and his funding of the renovation of the Taiwan County Confucian Temple.
