Nanwan Pier Recreation Area

Nanwan Pier, located at the southernmost tip of Cigu Lagoon, is an excellent spot to admire the mangrove landscape and gaze out at Wangzailiao Sandbar. The pier features an observation deck and a visitor service center, and it's also a major hub for taking bamboo rafts to explore the lagoon. You can take a boat to Wangzailiao Sandbar or Dingtoue Sandbar. The boat trip offers a panoramic view of the lagoon's diverse ecosystem, including fiddler crabs, water birds, and mangroves. Along the way, in addition to enjoying the beautiful lagoon, oyster farms, and sandbar scenery, you might find the rafts running aground in some knee-deep parts of the lagoon. At these times, you can disembark onto the sandy beach to search for shells, observe fiddler crabs, and embark on a Cigu Lagoon ecological tour. The entire trip lasts about 2 hours, akin to a real-life nature classroom. As dusk approaches, small animals return to their nests. The returning bamboo rafts glide across the calm waters, and the shimmering reflections create a mesmerizing scene that leaves a lasting impression.
