This wetland is situated at the mouth of the Yanshui River. To its north, it borders Zone A2 of Sicao Wetland. It stretches from the northern levee of the Yanshui River's main drainage channel southward to the Anping Seawall. Its eastern boundary is marked by Provincial Highway 17 and the Dagang Sea View Bridge, while the western maritime area extends to the 6-meter isobath. The total area spans 635 hectares. In recent years, intermediate egrets have established new breeding populations in the southwestern coastal regions of Taiwan. Both great egrets and intermediate egrets have also been observed nesting in the mangrove area at the Yanshui River estuary in Tainan City. Furthermore, Volume 58 of the Journal of National Taiwan Museum reported the collection of *Taiwanpetalum kurodai*, a new bivalve species, from this estuary. The ecological resources within this wetland include: Endangered species: Oriental Stork, Black-faced Spoonbill. Precious and rare species: Eastern Marsh Harrier, Osprey, Common Kestrel, Little Tern, Hwamei. Species requiring conservation: Brown Shrike, *Tipularia odorata*.
