Visitor Essentials

Adjacent to Guosheng Port Lighthouse, Dingtou'e Sandbar is a coastal sandbar that serves as a barrier for the southern end of Qigu Lagoon. This elongated sandbar was formed over long periods by sediment carried by rivers in western Taiwan, which was then transported by waves in the Taiwan Strait, gradually accumulating and emerging from the sea. Its desert-like landscape is a rare sight in Taiwan; some believe it shares a similar charm with the Tottori Sand Dunes, while others call Dingtou'e Sandbar Taiwan's version of the Sahara Desert. When the sun sets, the undulating lines of light and shadow across the sandbar become pronounced, captivating many photographers. Due to its tranquility, many also bring yoga mats to quiet their minds, practicing yoga while facing the vast ocean. In recent years, beautiful photos of the area have gone viral online, making it a must-visit destination for many seeking adventure, photography, and check-ins.
