Built between 1898 and 1906. During the Japanese colonial period, it served as the official residence for the Tainan Prefect. It later became a dormitory for officials of the Ministry of Interior. After World War II, it was used as an official residence for high-ranking government officials, with plainclothes security personnel stationed there. Subsequently, it became a dormitory for faculty and staff of Tainan First Senior High School. Over time, it fell into disrepair due to neglect until its restoration was completed in September 2017, and it was reopened. Currently, it serves as a reception venue for the Tainan Mayor to host foreign guests.
