Guang'an Temple

Guang'an Temple was founded in the early Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. Its original site was located where it echoed the Drum Tower of Prince Ningjing's Mansion from the Ming Dynasty and the Bell Tower of Kaiji Wumiao Temple. Because Rice Street (now Xinmei Street), where it was located, was an important thoroughfare at the time, Guang'an Temple consequently thrived with a strong following. During the Japanese colonial period, urban planning reforms led to street widening, which caused the temple to be moved northward to its current location, where it is co-enshrined with King Xing of Gongshantang. The old Guang'an Temple consisted of a Sanchuan Hall (Front Hall), a Worship Hall, and a Main Hall. The worship pavilion was supported by terrazzo and topped with a swallowtail roof. The Sanchuan Hall features exquisite wooden structures, stone structures, and decorations.
