He Wang's Ancestral House on Anping Market Street

Walking along Yanping Old Street, He Wang's Ancestral House on Market Street is a familiar name to everyone. It is the ancestral home of the Ho Chuan family, founders of Yuen Foong Yu, built in 1920. Known as the 'Taiwanese House,' it now serves as the Anping Cultural Asset Museum. The building features unique architecture with a very narrow facade. To reach the second floor, one must use a small and steep staircase located in the center, so visitors should be careful when exploring. It's said that a record 8 people once fell on the stairs in a single day. Despite being a cultural asset museum, it remains the Ho family's ancestral home, and therefore, photography is not allowed inside.
