Puji Temple

Legend has it that the geographical layout of Tainan Prefecture resembles a phoenix, earning it the name 'Phoenix City'. Puji Temple is located at the central point of the Bagua (Eight Trigrams) network in Feng Shui. To prevent the phoenix of Tainan's royal city from flying away, Puji Temple was thus built, along with a surrounding network of interconnected streets resembling a Bagua, to 'net' this phoenix that brings prosperity to the city.
