Kunxwan Cultural Park - Wanhua Palace

Wanhua Palace was built around 1739 AD. Its main deities are the "Imperial Envoys on behalf of Heaven" - the Three Lords Ye, Zhu, and Li, making it a local center of faith. The temple's architecture mimics the style of an imperial palace, making it very magnificent and grand in scale. The painted carvings inside the temple are also creations by famous masters, including works by Pan Li-shui, Tsai Tsao-ju, and Shih Hung-yi. The Wanhua Palace Royal Boat Ceremony (Wangchuan Jianjiao), held once every 12 years, is a major local event. An imposing, oversized ritual platform and royal boat, as spectacular as the temple itself, are erected in the front plaza, making it a must-see subject for many cultural photographers. In recent years, due to the immense popularity of the "Xishi Market" in Xishu Village, the number of worshippers has also increased.
