Beimen Nine Mists (Chen Family Gui Ji Cemetery)

Located on a small hill next to Provincial Highway 17, approximately at the 143-kilometer mark in Beimen District. It is said to be the burial site of Zheng Chenggong's (Koxinga's) aunt, Zheng Xi, and local residents refer to this cemetery as 'Laozumamao' (Old Ancestor Mother's Tomb). Legend has it that the Qing government, aiming to permanently sever the Zheng clan's geomantic influence in Taiwan, began excavating the ancestral graves of Zheng's descendants. To prevent this, Zheng's descendants built nine identical tombs near this small hill on 'Beimen Isle' to mislead the authorities. Furthermore, due to its historical location near the 'Daofeng Inland Sea,' the area was often shrouded in sea mist, leading to the name 'Jiuyinyin' (Nine Mists).
