Hutoupi Scenic Area

Hutoupi is Taiwan's first reservoir, with over a century of history during which many literati and scholars have praised it, earning it the nickname "Little Sun Moon Lake." Hutoupi exists like a backyard garden for Tainan City, and it was also a filming location for Jay Chou's movie "The Rooftop." The completion of the Huxi Suspension Bridge in 1905 further enhanced the lake's charm. Scenic trails with lake and mountain views encircle the lakeside, making it very pleasant to enjoy the scenery whether walking or cycling. The recreational facilities within the reservoir are also very comprehensive. On holidays, the barbecue area is bustling, with many families and friends enjoying the fun of outdoor cooking and grilling. If you wish to stay overnight by the lake after barbecuing, there's no problem; the camping area can fulfill this desire. In addition to enjoying the lake views along the lakeside promenade, you can also leisurely explore the lake on a swan boat or by paddling a canoe.
