Ruan Family Old House (Jindexing Pharmacy)

Built approximately during the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era (1734-1795 AD), it is a traditional street-house with a rare attic design in Taiwan. The entire structure is made of wood, meticulously crafted from Fuzhou fir using mortise and tenon joints, without a single nail. It still preserves its antique Chinese herbal medicine cabinets. Despite over two centuries and changes through three families, the house's past grandeur can still be faintly observed. The current owner, Mr. Ruan Qi, has inherited and maintained the old house for over fifty years, developing a deep affection for it. Whenever visitors arrive, he warmly invites them in for a tour and passionately recounts the legendary stories of the Ruan Family Old House, making guests feel as if they've traveled back in time.
