Tiexianqiao Tongji Temple

Tiexianqiao is located in today's Tiexian Village, Xinying District, facing Xiaying across the banks of the Jishui River. In its early days, the settlement had a developed river port transportation system and served as a vital thoroughfare to Fucheng (the former Tainan Prefecture). Consequently, an iron wire bridge was built for passage during the Kangxi era, and the settlement was named Tiexianqiao after it. Situated along the coast of the Daofeng Inland Sea and near the mouth of the Jishui River, Tiexianqiao utilized the convenience of river port transportation to become a major hub for agricultural goods and developed into a sizable port town.
