Haipu Chiwang Temple is located in Haipu Village, Madou District. It is dedicated to the Five Royal Lords (Wufu Qiansui) – Lords Chi, Li, Wu, Zhu, and Fan. The principal deity is Lord Chi. The golden statue of Lord Chi was brought to Taiwan during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and the temple has a history of over 300 years. Legend has it that Haipu Chiwang Temple has a deep historical connection with Nankunshen Daitian Temple. In the past, when the Royal Lords traveled between Madou and Nankunshen, Haipu served as a transit point, which is why this place is also known as 'Wangyepu' (Royal Lord's Plain). Chiwang Temple is renowned for its spiritual efficacy and enjoys abundant incense offerings.
