Mangrove Birdwatching Area

The coastal rivers of Tainan City carry and deposit a large amount of silt, creating an ideal environment for mangroves to thrive. The predominant tree species here is the Black Mangrove (*Avicennia marina*). Due to the rich ecosystem of fish, shrimp, crabs, and shellfish within the mangrove forest, many egrets, night herons, and other bird species gather here. Additionally, black-faced spoonbills visit every winter.
