Dianhuozun Ecological Trail

“Dianhuo” means “electric light” in both Hakka and Taiwanese. The Shigan Dianhuo Canal, which is now a century old, began operating and generating electricity in 1922. At that time, to ensure every household in Shigan had electricity, Taipower Company manually excavated the Dianhuo Canal, diverting water from the Babao Canal to provide hydroelectric power for the Shelianjiao Power Plant. The area around the Dianhuo Canal not only boasts rich flora and fauna but also offers shady, comfortable, and cool walking paths. The entire trail is 2.5 kilometers long.
