Taichung City Public Library Shangfeng Branch

The Shangfeng Branch is Taichung City's first library to feature "environmental education" as its main theme. It has also received the "Architecture Garden Award" and the "Excellence Award" in the Best Planning and Design category of the 2019 National Excellent Construction Award. The Shangfeng Branch is located next to Shangfeng Elementary School. Its red brick exterior walls echo the nearby golden wheat fields and the crimson leaves of maple trees. With ecological swales, native plant species, and an open spatial design connecting indoor and outdoor circulation, it naturally integrates with the school and community, creating a beautiful place where humans and nature intimately coexist. The library's outdoor area boasts a diverse landscape and ecological environment. It cultivates host plants and nectar sources to attract butterflies and bees, making it an excellent venue for promoting environmental education.
