Visitor Essentials

The Lin Chih-Chu Memorial Museum was originally Lin Chih-Chu's former residence (a dormitory), built in 1928 as a typical wooden dormitory building from the Japanese colonial period. Besides preserving its original structure, it also bears witness to the urban development along the Liuchuan River and simultaneously documents Lin Chih-Chu's life of creation and his journey. In 2007, Taichung City registered it as a historic building under the name "Lin Chih-Chu's Studio." In 2013, National Taichung University of Education undertook a restoration and revitalization project. After its repair and preservation in 2015, it was opened to the public for free admission.
