The construction of the Xixi Branch began on December 25, 2015, and was completed by the end of December 2017. After four months of planning and preparation, it began trial operations on March 27, 2018, and officially opened on April 22 of the same year. Built at a cost of 90 million TWD, the Xixi Branch is Taichung's first library to integrate architectural and aesthetic features. Situated next to the Fazi River Park green belt, it is the only library in Taiwan visible from a High-Speed Rail train. It is also a bronze-rated green building, featuring eco-friendly materials, a load-bearing wall system with column-free construction, and low-carbon energy-saving characteristics. Overall, it is a modern library that integrates intelligence, comfort, and energy efficiency.
