Taichung City Military Dependents' Village Museum

The Taichung City Military Dependents' Village Museum, built in 1960, is located near the intersection of Jinhua North Road and Beitun Road in Taichung's Beitun District. Originally known as "Beitun New Village," it was later renamed "Lingyun Community." It is one of Taichung's 134 military dependents' villages, primarily serving as dormitories for air force technicians of lieutenant colonel rank or higher and their families from a Guizhou aircraft manufacturing factory, who were resettled by the military. Currently, it preserves three representative buildings from the military dependents' village. Since August 2017, it has been operated and managed by Liang Guo Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd. In addition to museum exhibits and promotions, visitors can experience military dependents' village-style dishes, retro ice cream snacks, and traditional Taiwanese barber services. It also features an "Old Taiwan" vintage goods store and a cultural and creative market, injecting a sense of the times into the village residences and allowing the public to experience the new look of the military dependents' village, where old and new are harmoniously blended!
