Shekou Lin Family Residence – Daifu Di

During the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of the Lin family settled in Anli She, Taiwan (present-day Shengang District). During the Tongzhi reign, in the context of the Dai Chaochun Incident, Lin Zhenfang contributed to the Qing army's efforts to suppress Dai Chaochun. The Qing court subsequently bestowed upon him the title of 'Zhongshu Ke' and a commemorative plaque. The Shekou Lin Family Residence was built during Lin Zhenfang's most prosperous period. It was originally established by acquiring and renovating the old residence of the Wu-Zhang family. Its initial phase was completed in the first year of the Guangxu reign (1875). The ancillary wings, however, were gradually added over a decade later as the family's population increased.
