The Taichung Qingshui Military Dependents' Village Cultural Park, located opposite the Taichung Seaport Art Center, was originally the Xinyi New Village, an Air Force dependents' dormitory. It has been designated by the Ministry of National Defense as one of 13 'Old Military Dependents' Village Cultural Preservation Zones' nationwide. The park covers a total of 6.25 hectares. Beneath its surface lies the Zhongshel Archaeological Site, while the structures above ground constitute a 'settlement architectural cluster.' It preserves the organically 'grown' architecture characteristic of military dependents' villages. In addition to showcasing various types of officers' residences, it also retains vegetation and rice paddy landscapes. Across the street, a newly renovated military dependents' apartment building further enhances its comprehensive representation of various military dependents' village styles. Walking amidst the undulating rooftops and narrow alleys feels like traveling through a time tunnel, adding both intellectual and recreational value to cultural tourism.
