Da'an Water Trumpet Ecological Education Park

The Da'an Water Trumpet Ecological Education Park is located in a pond on the south bank of the Wenliao River in Da'an District. Its primary purpose is to rehabilitate *Hygrophila pogonocalyx*, an endangered plant species. The Da'an Water Trumpet (Hygrophila pogonocalyx) found within the park is a perennial aquatic herbaceous plant. Its erect stems are quadrangular-prismatic with dense hairs at the nodes. The simple leaves are opposite, papery, and linear-lanceolate. It produces purple, tubular flowers, and its fruit is ellipsoid-cylindrical. It is a rare plant species endemic to Taiwan.
