The Songhe Community, located by the Dajia River, is characterized by its river terrace topography. The village is currently home to a diverse population, including indigenous peoples, Hoklo (Minnan), Hakka, and Mainlanders. In Linchang Lane within the Songhe Community, a row of cypress wooden houses (former dormitories for Forestry Bureau employees) stands as the best-preserved historical testament to the 'Basianshan' Forest Area, one of Taiwan's three major historical forest areas.
