Shigang Farmers' Association Rice Milling Granary

During the Taisho era of the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese established credit cooperatives in various locations to manage the production and sale of rice crops in Taiwan. These were reorganized into Farmers' Associations only after World War II. Agriculture was once the primary lifeline for people's livelihoods and the economy in early times, and rice production was especially the main agricultural product of Shigang. Therefore, the Farmers' Association undertook the vital responsibility of processing, promotion, and improvement. The rice milling granary factory at that time held an extremely important position and was also an indispensable part of Shigang District's historical development.
