Visitor Essentials

The Shuiliudong Tung Blossom Trail, located in Waipu District, is 2.4 km long. Formerly known as Shuiliudong Lovers' Path, it was renamed Tung Blossom Trail in 2009 (Minguo year 98). Local residents have planted tung trees along both sides of the irrigation canal, and every year from April to May, tung blossoms fall here like snow. Shuiliudong was previously an irrigation channel; typically, water flows westward, but this particular irrigation channel gradually rises from west to east. From its elevated position, the trail passes through vineyards and tomato farms. There is also the 'Shuiliudong' High-Speed Rail observation deck, situated next to the Shuiliudong Tung Blossom Trail in Waipu, which is the closest observation deck to the High-Speed Rail. Visitors can check the provided timetable to watch the high-speed trains whiz by. Suitable for walking and cycling, it is a hidden gem (or secret route) for Waipu locals.
