National Public Information Library

The National Public Information Library (NPIL) is a national-level public and digital library. In 2014, it was listed by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) as one of the 1001 Libraries You Must See Before You Die. Its original predecessor was the Taichung Prefectural Library, established in 1921. It is responsible for guiding over 520 public libraries nationwide and is a third-tier agency under the Ministry of Education.
