Lecheng Temple

The origin of Lecheng Temple's establishment dates back to the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, when the ancestors of the Lin family brought Mazu's incense from Meizhou to Taiwan. Upon arriving at Hanxi, Mazu chose this place to settle, leading the villagers to build a temple for worship. To this day, it boasts a history of over two hundred years. This temple is a two-hall complex; the roof of the front hall is a double-eaved hip-and-gable style, which appears more splendid than typical temples. A pair of blue stone lions at the main entrance and many existing granite slabs attest to the temple's long history. In 1985 (Republic of China Year 74), the Ministry of the Interior designated Lecheng Temple as a national third-class historic site, making it an excellent destination for a heritage tour. Its long history, a two-hundred-year-old incense burner, exquisitely carved altars, stone door sills and bases, and ancient bluestone lions all stand as testaments to Lecheng Temple's two centuries of existence.
