Wanchun Temple was founded during the Kangxi and Yongzheng eras. The current building, an ancient and elegant palace-style structure, was completed in 1958 (the 47th year of the Republic of China). The temple enshrines Mazu (the Goddess of Heaven). Above Mazu's statue hangs a plaque inscribed with 'Hai Yan He Qing' (peace and tranquility across the seas and rivers), bestowed by Emperor Guangxu. A distinctive and attractive feature is the pointed caisson ceiling in the front hall, which resembles a spider web reaching upwards.
