The Wufeng Lin Family Residence is the collective name for the garden and residential architectural complex in Aozhou (Wufeng). It is composed of three main parts: the Upper House, the Lower House, and the Lai Garden. The Lai Garden, where Mingtai High School is located, was built by Lin Wen-Chin, a juren of the Lin family, to serve his mother. It later became famous throughout Taiwan as the Wufeng Lin Family Garden. The Lin Family Garden, built from the mid-Qing dynasty to the present, has spanned many eras, and its architectural styles have varied greatly. In its later period, new buildings and gardens even emerged, combining Chinese, Western, and Japanese styles.
