Visitor Essentials

Located in Heping District, Taichung City, covering an area of 2492.32 hectares, it is one of Taiwan's three major forest areas. Jiabaotai, located at its foothills, is also one of Taiwan's Eight Scenic Spots. The recreation area features three forest bathing trails, all starting from the Baishanshan Villa parking lot. One leads upstream along the Shiwen Stream, another follows a downward staircase to the dam area, and the third passes through forest trails and bamboo groves, leading to Japanese shrines and the ruins of an elementary school. Whichever path you choose, you can observe plants, birdwatch, and enjoy a forest bath. If you have enough physical strength, you can also climb Baishanshan Mountain or Xinsan Mountain.
