Visitor Essentials
Houli Horse Ranch is the oldest and largest public horse ranch in Taiwan. Its first and second stables and the main office building were constructed in 1912 (the first year of the Republic of China). During the Japanese colonial period, it served as a horse breeding farm for the Governor-General of Taiwan. After Taiwan's retrocession, it was used for breeding thoroughbreds and training military cavalry. With the changing times, it has transformed into a horse ranch for tourism, leisure, and recreation. To this day, it still preserves its well-maintained historical buildings and rustic charm from the Japanese colonial era.
