Jingming First Street

Jingming First Street is the birthplace of European-style shopping streets in Taichung and a successful model for shopping street management nationwide. It is formed by two distinctively designed buildings, creating a unique streetscape that has become a pedestrian zone with European-style open-air cafes. Prestigious boutiques, clothing stores, shoe shops, jewelry stores, and art galleries line both sides, adding to Jingming's diverse charm and rich consumer culture, making visitors feel as comfortable and leisurely as if they were on the Champs-Élysées. Moreover, various street activities are frequently held on holidays or major festivals. It was the first shopping street in Taichung City to be designated as a demonstration shopping street by the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Department of Commerce. The Jingming First Street shopping area has expanded to the nearby Dalong Road, making the commercial district even grander in scale.
