Visitor Essentials
The National Archives is located in Linkou District, New Taipei City, and is the nation's first national-level archives. The building is a 50-meter-tall green building with 10 floors above ground and 2 basement levels. The entire park spans 2.56 hectares, preserving the original secondary forest, allowing humanities, architecture, and natural landscapes to integrate. The National Archives combines the functions of national archives collection, application services, research, and exhibitions. Its storage facilities can preserve up to 100 kilometers of national archives. The archives housed within are extensive, ranging from the earliest land deeds from the Qianlong era in 1734 to modern government documents at all levels, serving as a treasure trove of national memory. The museum features permanent and special exhibitions, allowing visitors to explore the changes in Taiwanese society through national archives. The National Archives will begin its soft opening on September 2, 2025, and officially open on November 22.
