Visitor Essentials

The Jingmei White Terror Memorial Park is located on the south side of the Xindian end of Xiulang Bridge. It was originally the Xindian Ershizhang Jingmei Military Detention Center. It was registered as a historic building in 2007 and in 2018, it became one of the two major parks under the National Human Rights Museum. During the martial law era, this site served as a place for interrogation and detention in military, political, and public security cases. Many political victims were sentenced here, making it a site of injustice from the White Terror era. The park features buildings and facilities such as the Human Rights Memorial, Ren'ai Building, Service Center, Barracks Area, Military Court, First Court, Wang Hsi-ling Special Zone, and Library. Through permanent exhibitions and educational activities, it conveys universal values such as democracy and human rights.
